“As China Airlines is getting ready to celebrate its 55th founding anniversary, we are really pleased to be recognized as the best airline in North Asia once again,” CAL President Lin Perng-liang said at the ceremony.
“Having added new flight routes, we will continue to provide not only the best possible service to our valued travelers, but also the best of Taiwan to the world,” Lin added.
“Being selected No. 1 by our readers is no mean feat, as they are an intrepid group of discerning frequent travelers,” Global Traveler Publisher and CEO Francis X. Gallagher said. “Consistency is the key, as most winners are repeat honorees.” He further expressed congratulations to the hardworking professionals of the travel industry.
According to Global Traveler, a U.S.-based monthly magazine for the world’s business travelers, the winners were chosen by more than 26,000 qualified ballots cast by readers to the Jan. 1 to Aug. 31 survey on the best airlines, hotels, restaurants and traveling related businesses.
According to CAL, its new fleet of Boeing 777-300s possesses many leading features in cabin design. “Family Couch” service, for instance, in economy class is now available wherein seats can be converted into sofa beds. The airline is the first in Asia to have introduced this feature.
Another first in the industry is its premium business class on the 777-300ER featuring a Sky Lounge with raised ceilings that offers passengers an oasis of Taiwan culture in the sky. Travelers can relax and travel in cultured comfort with a choice sampling of Taiwan’s top quality oolong teas. (SSC-MJH)
